Many of the stones possess a good hardness, care should still be taken to prevent knocks with hard surfaces and extra tender care should be taken with the more brittle stones, such as Crystal Pyrite and Chrysocolla. Contact with chemicals should be avoided on all the jewellery as some chemicals may discolour the stones or the metal. Should there be any need for cleaning, soft cloth, warm water (though not hot), possibly with some mild plain soap is advised rather than any chemical based formula. It is also well advised to take care not to expose the jewellery unnecessarily when applying perfumes and creams. We recommend removing the jewellery when you shower or bath and particularly when on the beach, in the sea and in chlorinated water. Keep away from extreme temperatures, humidity and sunlight. To protect your jewellery, pieces should be individually placed in a pouch or within a soft lined box to stop them being scratched or tangled. Try and keep the pieces apart, so that they don’t rub together or tangle up.
